Turtle Lane Studios Description

TURTLE LANE STUDIOS PTY LTD is an innovative company with over twenty years experience in the Arts and Information Technology (IT) industries. Turtle Lane Studios combines appropriate techniques from both areas to develop advanced information and knowledge services for our clients.

Turtle Lane Studios offers a solid foundation in systems, information and cognitive design, especially for those systems integrating diverse heterogeneous technology or media, including knowledge-based systems or artificial intelligence, multiple media, Internet or World Wide Web. We have extensive experience in electronic publishing, systems providing appropriate access to relevant information in a digital form, and the digitisation of cultural heritage objects focussing especially on issues of long-term access and preservation of such digitised material.

Examples of products include:

  • The Digital Environment: New Technologies and Australian Culture CD ROM developed for the Federal Government's Department of COmmunications, Information Technology and the Arts. Copies are available from the Department, Ph:+61-2-62 71 10 00
  • Events On Line, a system for engaging with events through the web (http://eventsonline.cadre.com.au );
  • PADI, a web site for the Preservation of Australian Digital Information Working Party (http://www.nla.gov.au/padi/)
  • IntelliText, an electronic book environment;
  • RIMS, a Records and Information Management System;
  • References Manager, a personal references manager (available direct from Turtle Lane Studios);
  • SIRATAC PLUS, a cotton pest management expert system;
  • a pilot Hansard text retrieval system for the Federal Parliamentary Library; and
  • various other text retrieval systems for major corporations.
