Dr Bob Jansen has over thirty years experience in the Information Technology industry. He has worked in Australia and overseas in Europe and America in the R&D, academic and commercial sectors.

He has over twenty publications in peer-reviewed conferences and journals to his credit in such areas as digital preservation, multimedia, artificial intelligence, electronic publishing, oral history and user interaction to IT systems. He has served on the program committees of many prestigious international conferences and been an academic course reviewer and advisor at the University of Western Sydney for its IT courses.

He has successfully attracted over $200,000 in R&D grant funding

He has worked or consulted for organizations such as the ABC, the Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts, CSIRO, ICL, The Historic Housing Trust (NSW), Mitsubishi Australia, Toyota Motor Corporation (Aust), The National Archives of Australia, The National Library of Australia, the University of New South Wales, the NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service, NSW Department of Urban Affairs and Planning, TAFE NSW, South East Sydney & Illawarra Area Health Service and the NSW Department of Education & Training.

Bob Jansen is a founding member of the NSW Cancer Institute’s Ci-SCAT Advisory Board; the NSW Melanoma Network and the NSW Cancer Institute’s NSW Oncology Group for Melanoma. In these positions he is bringing to bear his extensive experience in ICT and eHealth to improve cancer treatments and increase patient survival from Melanoma.

  • Managed the implementation of a paperless electronic medical record supporting all aspects of patient care at the St George Cancer Care Centre and the Sutherland Hospital Oncology Daycare Centre. A large component of this project was change and expectation management of the clinicians, the Area health Service IT support groups and the software vendor.
  • Managed the liaison with the various stakeholders to upgrade the IT infrastructure, the implement the three-site IT environment and to drive workplace change through the organizations.
